Koko took his silence as a yes and quickly set Mingan down. She moved quietly over to the pool of water before sitting on the side that wouldn't cast her shadow over the water. She watched the fish move languidly through the water, waiting for an opening. Her hand suddenly lashed out and emerged with a large silver fish caught in her grasp. She tossed it up further on the bank before returning her attention to the other fish that continued to swim along under the water.

Logan watched, wrinkling his nose. He hated fish, always had.

Koko managed to catch a few more fish, before deciding that it was enough. "Do you not like fish? Oh, do you happen to have anything to start a fire?" she asked him. When she ran from the wolves she lost her bag full of supplies and only had a small knife tucked into her belt under her shirt.

Logan nodded.Build me something that can contain it so that the forest does not catch alight. He said.

Koko nodded before quickly moving to gather an armful of stones from the river bank. She brought them back and set them two high in a good sized circle. She disappeared shortly into the trees only to return with a decent stack of dry branches. She piled them neatly within the circle of rocks before moving out of the way and gathering the fish. She made short work gutting them, and preparing them to be cooked. Mingan sat down next to her, watching her movements curiously.

Logan extended one claw on each hand and rubbed them together sharply once, creating a spray of sparks. The sparks jumped onto the dry branches and caught alight. Logan retracted his claws and shook his hands slightly, grunting. That had produced a feeling similar to nails on a chalkboard.

Koko bared her teeth slightly at the sound which sent goosebumps down her arms. She shook herself slightly before moving to hold the fish over the flames with the stick she had put them on. "Thank you." she told Logan.

Logan didn't answer. He glanced at the waterfall and then sighed, settling back onto his boulder and pulling out a roll up cigarette. He held the tip to the fire until it burned a bright red, then put it in his mouth.

Koko scrunched up her nose at the smell of the cigarette. She had never been a huge fan of the smell and with her sense of smell heightened it made it even less pleasant. She turned the fish until they had finished cooking before pulling them away from the fire.

Logan notice her obvious dislike of the cigarette and smirked, exhaling a plume of smoke. Problem? he said around the cigarette.

Koko bared her teeth slightly, but turned it into a grin when she realized he was just trying to irritate her. "Not at all." she replied. "Want a fish?" she asked, trying to keep her temper in check.

Logan wrinkled his nose.No.He said, still talking around the cigar. He exhaled another plume of smoke.

"Fine. Your loss." she told him before moving so that the smoke wasn't blowing in her direction. Koko knelt down and picked up the fish. "Here Mingan." she said to the pup, tossing him a fish of his own. The little pup eagerly pounced on the meat, quickly scarfing it down as Koko began to eat her own.

Logan wrinkled his nose again at the smell of the fish. He'd grab something later, but right now all he wanted was a beer.

After Koko and Mingan had quickly eaten their fill she extinguished the flames and picked up the wolf pup. "I'm ready whenever you are." she told Logan. She couldn't help the worried look that crossed her face at the thought of him not eating anything. She told herself to keep an eye out for any berries or other plants that were edible for Logan to eat.

Logan simply got up and started walking, flicking his cigarette away.

Koko quickly started following Logan, now easily keeping up with the man. "So how far until the first town?" she asked, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.

Logan shrugged.A mile, maybe more. Why, are you in a hurry?

"No." she grumbled, looking away from him. She kept her emotions hidden from her expression, but she was honestly terrified of turning into some kind of feline at any moment. Mingan could feel the tension and smell the fear coming off of her in waves. He whined and began wiggling in her grasp until she finally let him down onto the ground. The little pup whimpered and tucked his tail between his legs as he trailed close behind her. The wolf was confused by her fear and felt more comfortable on the ground where the tension was less.

Logan rolled his eyes and kept walking. He just wanted to be left alone, that's all he ever wanted. Losing one's memory can make one very insecure and unsure of who to trust.

Koko quickly kept up with Logan, but kept her distance while avoiding an unnecessary conversation. She could tell that he didn't want her here and if it wasn't for her fear of turning into a cat and staying like that forever she would have already disappeared into the woods and out of his life for good. It also didn't help that she felt indebted to the man since he saved her and Mingan's lives.

Logan walked in silence for a long while. At a sudden noise, his head whipped up and he threw an arm out to stop Koko from moving any further, holding a finger to his lips as a warning to keep quiet.

Koko stopped immediately and went silent at Logan's warning. Mingan caught on just as quickly and froze in place, his nose twitching and his ears turning to try and catch any unusual scent or sound. Koko unknowingly found herself doing something similar, instinctively sniffing the air, listening for unusual sounds, and scanning the area around them.

A human came out of the woods, walking slowly, a gun cocked and ready to fire.Who are you?

Koko froze at the sight of the man. She found herself looking straight at the gun as her body started shaking all over.

Mingan felt his hackles rise and a little growl rumbled out of his throat, but it was rather pathetic with how small he was.
