"That's it! Just a little farther! No! More to the left!"
The large moving van was slowly backing up into the narrow driveway that sat beside the apartment building. A young woman was standing behind it, shouting out directions to keep it from crashing into the side of the building. The heavy set man in the drivers seat scowled every time she shouted something, but how could he be mad? The woman was extremely sexy and paying him big bucks help her move everything inside.
"Perfect!"
The big man jumped down from the cab and slammed the door behind him. He adjusted his rumpled shirt and tugged at the crotch of his jeans as he made his way around the truck to lift the door so they could start taking out her stuff. "Which apartment is yours, miss?" he asked in a husky voice, climbing up the ramp and into the back of the truck.
Jade stood off at a distance looking up at the massive brick apartment building. All her life she had been saving up to finally get a place of her own and this was it. She couldn't help but grin from ear to ear as she looked up at the balcony that belonged to her. "Huh?" she called to the man as she slowly pivoted and walked towards the truck. "Oh, its on the 3rd floor. But don't worry, they have an elevator. It took longer than expected to get all of her furniture into the apartment and other various articles she possessed. By the time they were finished, the sun had already sunk below the horizon and the city was blanketed in a quilt of night. "Here is you money and thanks again!" Jade said as she handed over the cash to the truck driver. He grunted his response and stalked off.
"Wow.." Jade breathed as she looked around her apartment. It had wood floors with white walls that had crown molding at the top. Her living room was massive with a big balcony over looking the city. She had a fully furbished kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and red cherry cabinets. Her counter tops were granite. She wanted to cry at the beauty of the place. She kicked off her flip flops and ran down the hall to her master bedroom and threw open the door. "Oh!" she exclaimed as she admired the four poster bed, the flat screen TV, and the other balcony. She put a hand over her mouth as she peeked into the royal bathroom. "This is perfect.." she whimpered softly as she went back into the living room to begin un packing.

Ugh. What in hell was going on? All Trevor could hear was loud thumps and bangs coming from the apartment next door and it was disrupting his sleeping. Normally he wouldn't have really cared, but he'd been hunting all night and he was exhausted. He rolled over and pulled his blankets over himself and stuffing his head under his pillow. When even that didn't help block out the sound he decided to just give up; there was no point in laying in bed when he couldn't sleep. He sat up and pushed the covers back, looking around his room. Even though it was nearly pitch black due to the cardboard he'd duct-taped over the windows, nt because the sun was all like, "Muahaha I'm going to burn you into a crisp" type thing, he just really hated it. It was bright, hurt his skin a bit, and was just overall annoying. He gave a small groan and another thud resonated through the building. He didn't like it too much when people moved in. More potential friends, which meant people he'd get attached to, something he didn't want because he'd end up losing them anyway. Besides, he'd beem alone for the past two years. He was used to it. He didn't even feel lonely anymore. He shuffled over to his large window and pulled back the cardboard a bit, squinting as the bright light hit his face, nearly making him his.


As soon as soon as he got used to the blinding sunlight, the young vampire looked down at the street and actually found himself wanting to chuckle as he watched what was going on below him. Some red haired woman -who was really good looking he noticed- was yelling at some poor mover, directing him into the stupid driveway. He hated that too, because sometimes he had to wait forever to get in an out if someone was blocking his way. Well, when he decided to actually drive. He gazed down at the events taking place under him for a few more minutes until he got bored. Unsure of what to do because he didn't feel like leaving his apartment, he ended up just cleaning his entire apartment, which really didn't take very much time; he made an effort to keep things tidy. After he made sure everything was spotless he settled down on his sofa and watched television for the few remaining hours of day. As the sun began lowering into the sky, I noticed all the noise from the other apartment was lessening until it finally ceased. Figuring he should probably go and greet the chick who'd just moved in, he went for the door before he realized he should put some close on, seeing as he was only in his boxers. Walking into his bedroom he searched through his closet, pulling on a pair of loose-fitting sweatpants -not something he wore very often- and a black wife-beater.


He added his finishing touch after quickly brushing his hair; a Santa hat. It was way out of season, yes, but it was the only thing that brought him comfort. It had been given to him by his younger brother and it wasn't something he was going to just toss in the back of his closet until Christmas. People usually thought him crazy for walking around in the middle of summer with a festive hat on, but honestly he didn't really care. He then made his way out of his room and into the living room where the door to the hallway was. He opened it and slipped out, checking to make sure no one else was around. he avoided the people in the building as much as he possibly could. He shut the door behind him with a soft click before walking down to the door where he believed the woman had moved into. As soon as he got near it, he sensed something odd, but couldn't really pick it up. Whatever. Shrugging to himself, he knocking on the door before taking a step back and waiting for whoever was inside to open the door.

Zoey lifted a large box and carried it with ease into her her new kitchen. She set it down on the counter and used her sharp nail to cut the tap that kept the box closed. She threw open the flaps and tossed the thin paper used as padding out behind her and let it flutter to the floor. She gingerly lifted out bubble wrapped plates, glasses, and dishes. "Which cabinet.." she started as she flung open open all of them. She finally found one and began setting the plates inside. She did the same with the glasses in a different cabinet and began setting all her other dishes in various cabinets too. She unpacked her silverware and placed them in a tray with assorted holders for each type. She took a step back when she finished hanging up her skillets and pots, placing her hands on her sculpted hips, and smiled. "Awesome." she breathed, wipping away the sweat on her forehead. She crossed the kitchen in a few graceful strides and opened the fridge. It was empty. "Gotta stock that tomorrow.." she said to herself as she closed it and wandered back out into the living room.

"Such a pretty view.." she sighed as she leaned against the railing and watched the horizon light up with the city lights. The night air tickled her skin and brushed her cheeks and pulled on her ebony hair. Zoey looked over her shoulder when she heard an empty box topple over and smiled. "Oh Macy.." she cooed as a fat black cat jumped into her open arms. She cuddled her kitty to her chest and turned back towards the city. "Do you wonder who our neighbors are, Macy?" she asked her. The cat just purred and rubbed her head under Zoey's chin. Zoey walked back in the living room, dropping Macy on the couch and wandered into her bedroom. She stripped out of her moving clothes and stepped into aa pair of athletic shorts and a black tank top.

A knock on her door startled her and she poked her head around her bedroom door. "Who could that be at this hour?" she asked herself as she tip toed bare footed out into the living room. She reached up and looked through the peep hole in the door, her emerald eyes spotting a young man waiting outside. "Hmm.." she hummbed as she unlocked the two locks and slowly opened the big door. She kept half her body hidden by the door and said, "Hello, can i help you?"

Trevor jumped as he heard the locks clicking on the other door; he'd been sucked into his thoughts as he waited for the woman to come to her door. What should he expect? Was she going to be some raging creature like he'd seen down below? Or would she be like the old lady down on the second floor, sweet and always smiling. When the woman peeked out of her apartment, she kept half of herself behind they door, out of view. Why, Trevor had no idea, but whatever. And then she asked if she could help him and a smile spread across his young face. "Oh, I just came to say hello. I live next door." He said in reply and slowly held out his hand for the most formal of greetings; a hand shake. He wasn't sure if she would accept, she seemed just the slightest bit...hesitant? Nervous? He couldn't really tell, which was odd because he could normally read people like they were open books. (I'm so sorry that this is really short. I'm really busy, I'll try to make the next post much longer)

Jade stepped farther out from behind the door, revealing herself completely in all her tan glory. She tugged at her shorts and smiled nervously, "Well, how do you do?" she stuck out her hand as well, firmly grasping his smooth hand with hers. It was a very different handshake than the one she was accustomed to, but no way was she going to firmly grasp his forearm like she would when greeting another like her. She had to appear human to stay safe. "Well, i'm Jade. I just moved in here today." she laughed nervously again. Im sure he already knew that.. she growled to herself. Jade let go of his hand and stepped back in her apartment, holding the door with one hand. She took a long, hard look at him, admiring his chill apparel and the awkward hat atop his head. She give him a confused smile and dipped her head forward, her ebony hair tumbling over her shoulders and framing her chest. "Well, would you like to come in?" she asked, unsure if she should send him away or what.

The girl-Jade, came out from behind the door, which made Trevor feel a bit more...relaxed? Her hand closed around his own, and with her the shake seemed a bit awkward. Was she not used to contact with people or something? She gave him the obvious bit of information, the reason for his coming over, followed by a laugh that sounded a tad nervous. Trevor's smile just widened slightly. "I'm Trevor." He said, choosing not to give her his nickname. It seemed to throw people off when he first met them, made them think he was some trouble maker or something, which he generally wasn't. The woman let go of his hand, and he let it fall to his side, before deciding to shove it casually into his pocket. And then she asked him inside. He held in a little chuckle to himself, thinking about the vampire stereotype. They had to be invited in, right? At least, that's what the movies and books said, though they were completely wrong. Trevor could sneak into any house he wanted without invitation- not that he would do so.


At her question, he wasn't sure how to respond. Sure, he would like to spark up a conversation about whatever, and this Jade seemed like an interesting enough person. But at the same time, he wasn't sure if it was a good idea. He was wary about making friends; they never lasted very long. Either he had to leave, or he stopped talking them to avoid any heartbreak. He would live on, and they would grow old and die. What was the point in growing even the slightest bit close to someone? But, he sensed that the girl standing before him was...he didn't know...different? He gave a tiny, near inaudible sigh before making the decision to accept her offer. "Sure, why not?" He said with a smile, but made no movement toward the inside of Jade's apartment. He felt it was rude to go into someone's house before they did. He reached up to compulsively fix his hat, and then his hair, startling himself with his own, cold touch. The warmth of Jade's hand had made him forget that his were cooler, his skin much paler than hers. Hm. (Bleh. Failure xD)

Jade looked at him when he didn't come within her apartment. She cocked an eyebrow and opened the door open farther, "I invited you in, ya know."she tossed teasingly over her shoulder as she casually walked back in. She waited until he had crossed the thresh hold before closing the door gently behind him. Out of habit, she locked all the locks and checked the peep hole again. She turned around to face him and clasped her hands together, "Well, this is my apartment." she said, looking around her at the dark wood furniture, flat screen Tv on the wall, and her personal pictures scattered about, mixed with her own nic-nacks. "It's not much."

She moved gracefully past him and twirled in a wide circle, "I love it here, don't you?" Her voice was almost sing song when she spoke. As she spun, her petite muscles clenched beneath the tight, tan skin of her legs and showed off the fact that she was formerly a dancer. Even as though she looked graceful like a ballerina or a gymnast, it was mostly because of her training. She stopped spinning and thought back to the say she first started training. She had her elements to strengthen her, but she failed miserably that day. Coming out of the memory, she turned and saw Trevor standing there awkwardly in his Santa hat. "My bad.." she said softly, wandering past him into the kitchen. "Id offer you a drink, but i have nothing in my fridge yet."

Trevor only gave Jade a light chuckle as she teased him while she walked into her apartment. As followed her in, he watched her with interest as she softly closed the door and slid all of the locks into place, an amused smile resting in his lips. With another obvious statement, his smile grew just the slightest bit wider. He decided that he liked this girl, he felt she would be easy to get along with. He just stood, clasping his hands together as Jade looked around her own apartment, as if still taking in the home she'd set up for herself. It was quite nice, better than his apartment. It wasn't messy, in fact, it was relatively empty. There were no pictures, no little figurines or other nick-knacks decorating the small place he called him. He had all the basic furniture, a kitchen with a table, a living room with a couch and TV, and then his bedroom which contained just a bed, a dresser, and a small side table that had his alarm clock. He didn't really need luxury. Compared to this, his was kind of a dump. "It's very nice." He commented as he gazed around with a small, thoughtful nod.


And then she began to twirl. Trevor was mildly captivated by her movements, the way she turned so gracefully, so...perfect. She must've taken dance classes or something; that much was obvious. He grinned at her liveliness. She seemed so full of life, the most he'd seen in a while. He himself just kind of sat around, with nothing to do, no one to see. "My bad..." She said suddenly, ceasing her dancing and striding into the kitchen. Trevor's smile dimmed just a tad. "Do you dance?" He asked as he followed her into the kitchen. She said something about not being able to offer a drink, and he shrugged. "I don't drink much." He said in reply. In fact, he didn't really drink at all, besides blood but that was beside the point. There was the occasional glass of water or soda, but that was it. Most of what was in his fridge had been untouched for a while, the soda gone flat and the food showing signs of age. He'd have to clean it out sometime. He fixed his Santa hat again, and smiled. (I just realized he seems really...depressed. Geesh xD And also that he smiles a lot)

Jade opened up the fridge anyway, peering into the emptiness and tapping her bare foot against the floor almost impatiently. "Upsetting.." she mumbled to herself. She stood erect and kicked the door shut with her foot. "You don't drink?" she asked him, coming to the entrance to her kitchen and looking out at him in the living room. She leaned against the frame, her hand level with her head and resting her head upon it. "Hm.." Jade studied him for a moment, taking the time to actually see him. He was about average height, toned but small, sleek hair and wild, eyes that seemed to hold a dark humor. When she looked into them, she saw a secret; something she also kept hidden. She quickly drew her gaze away and blushed, her cheeks flaring a soft pink. She ducked her head, a silly habit she had and allowed her hair to curtain her awkwardness.

"Do I dance?" she asked, elevating her head again and moving from her post in the kitchen to living room. "Well, I did at one point in my life." she admitted. She ran a slender finger along an unpacked box. "It was a long, long time ago, but I often find myself dancing without realizing it." She seemed distant as if lost in thought as she rounded the box and placed both her hands firmly on it. "Do you?" she asked him, glancing up momentarily to make necessary eye contact and then back down again. While she awaited his answer, she leaned forward on the box and slowly lifted her body up, legs in the air, and did a perfect hand stand.

Trevor cocked a brow as the woman opened the refrigerator, mildly amused. She'd said it was empty...why look? He shrugged just the tiniest bit to himself before she turned around, following her with his eyes as she then did say and went to lean against the door frame. "Nope. I've never touched anything except for the rare glass of water or soda." He replied to her question with a light smile. He noticed that Jade was staring at him, her eyes trailing over him as she studied his features. When her eyes met his own, his widened. He saw something in her eyes, something hidden and for some reason there was a moment of recognition, as if they shared a secret. Trevor shrugged it off and gave an amused smile when she blushed. It wasn't like it was something he wasn't used to. He didn't mind it, really. She hid herself behind her hair and he held back a chuckle. She was so...intriguing.


Then she repeated his question he'd asked before, and she told him that she had in her past. Why had she stopped? He had the urge to ask her why, but he didn't want to seem like he was nosing into her personal life. He watched as she circled an unopened box, raising his brow. Then she confessed, saying that she sometimes danced without her actions fully registering. He found himself doing that sometimes, doing things without really noticing it. Sometimes he would trying to write poetry or a song without realizing there was no pen in his hand, or walking in the door and opening his arms, expecting his younger brother to run into them for his daily hug. He gave a little sigh at the memory, wishing that at some point he could go back to that. Maybe one day. Snapping his attention back to Jade, he noticed her with her hands on the box. She asked him if he danced, and he shook his head. "I took ballroom dancing around two years ago, but ended up having to stop." He answered, then watching with slight astonishment as the young woman pulled her body into a hand stand. Holy crap.

Even thought Jade was doing a perfect hand stand, she was able to elevate her head just enough to look at him. She noticed him staring off and knew he was deep in thought about something. His eyes seemed to glaze over and she could sense his pulse slowing as he remembered a distant memory. It quickened again and she knew that he wanted it to happen again. She considered asking him about it, but that would give away that there was something off about her. It might even scare him into running away. The thought worried her and her balance faltered for a fraction of a second. "Why did you stop?" She asked, bring one hand to the opposite side of the box and shifting so that she could put her head down and still stare at him.

As she awaited his answer, she concentrated on staying perfectly still. Sometimes she would spread her legs parallel with the floor or she would point them straight up, her toes as pointed as they could possibly be. The burn in her arm muscles reminded her that she needed to get back to the gym and maybe even the dance studio. Jade closed her eyes for a second, her long lashes fluttering against her cheeks, and took a deep breath. She tossed her head as she opened her eyes again, freeing her long hair and making it hang loosely over the box. As she brought her arms back together again, her shirt tumbled downward and revealed her stomach. She inwardly cried out and did a swift dismount, landing on her feet and sticking a dead silently landing, one Gabby Douglas would be jealous of. "Sorry about that.." She said hurriedly, tugging her shirt back into place as her cheeks flared bright red. She was self conscious about her stomach, actually her whole body. Most of her was pretty toned and in shape, but her tummy always seemed to have this annoying bulge to it. She leaned back and sat on the box, watching him with worrisome eyes, occasionally biting her lip; another habit.

Trevor was pulled back to reality when Jade spoke again. "Wha? Oh. Uhm." He tried to think of a valid excuse to give her. It wasn't like be could be like, "Hey! I'm a vampire! Whoo!" Because that wouldn't freak her out or anything. He searched his mind for something, and finally found something that would work perfectly. "I had a...change in heart." He told her, biting his lower lip lightly. He didn't like not telling the truth, even if it wasn't exactly a lie. He watched as she would move her legs, and gave a small smile. She was pretty felixible. He wished he could be that flexible. His eyes widened slightly as her shirt slid downwards, exposing her stomach, and her finely toned muscles (It makes her sound like a steroid junkie xD)


He could hear her heart-rate pick up, and she suddenly jumped off the box, tugging her shirt down before apologizing. "It's fine. It happens." He said with a smile. He found that the more he watched and talked to her, the more she interested him. The more he liked her. It wasn't exactly the best thing to happen in the world, because of his whole 'no friends' policy. She'd just be another person that would get lost along with the others. (Sorry it's short, but I'm super busy)

Jade smiled at him, cocking her head to side as she brought her legs up and sat criss cross apple sauce. "A change of heart?" she asked, noticing how he bit his lip when he answered. Her smile broadened and she flicked her hair back over her shoulder. "Care to enlighten me on that one?" she asked, winking at him and scratching at her bare arm. She enjoyed the fact that she had company. Even if he seemed to be hiding something from her, he still seemed like an awesome companion. She was sure he wasn't a cold blooded killer, but even if he as, they would still get along great due to her issues.

Trevor crossed his arms and relaxed his shoulders as he stood in front of Jade, trying to release the nervous tension he was feeling due to her questions. He let out a small breath and shrugged at her next question. "Well, I just felt like I needed to leave home for some reason, and so I cancelled my classes and moved here." He replied with a slightly sad smile. He hadn't wanted to leave; it was more of the fact that he had to leave. He couldn't possibly put his family in danger like that, not in the least. He held in a sigh, not wanting to make her think too much was up. He smiled instead, the corners of his lips turning up slightly as he looked at her. She was quite a woman. (Ohgod that sounded...creepy)

Jade figured out that she enjoyed watching him smile. He had the cutest mouth with the most softest looking lips she had ever seen. Every time he managed to smirk and crack a little grin, Jade felt honored and blessed that she was receiving such a beautiful gift."I'm really sorry to hear that." she offered apologetically, getting up from the box and brushing off her shorts. "But, at least you are settled in here and you seem to have no worries." She walked past him and back into the kitchen where she opened the fridge again. "Dammit.." she grumbled, already forgetting there was no food in there. "Well, it is getting a little late. I am sure you want to be getting back to your apartment now." she said with a sigh and picked up her phone. "I think i'll order carry out. Then again, if you want some, you are more than welcome to linger a little longer." she offered as she plopped down on the couch, patting the cushion on the other side.

///trevor shrugged when she said she was sorry, and shook his head slightly. "Well, who knows. Maybe I'll go back someday." He said, a bit more to himself than to Jade.As she stood he couldn't help but stare at her eyes for a moment. They were so captivating; he felt as if he could stare into them for a long time. Though he didn't of course, he didn't want to seem like a creeper. He had zoned a bit, and only caught on the the last part of her sentence. No worries? I wish. He thought to himself, a bitter smirk playing at his lips for a second while Jade wasn't looking. He let slip a small laugh when she went over to the fridge and opening it, the fact that it was empty must have been forgotten. When she spoke again, he gave a small thoughtful shrug. "Well, I have nothing to do at my apartment...If you want the company I'm more than happy to stay, though you needn't order me anything. I don't eat much." He said in reply as he took a seat next to her on the edge of the couch. Truth was, he didn't exactly want to leave, because the woman was so interesting, he wanted to keep talking to her. But then again, there was his little 'no friends rule.' Well, maybe he could make and exception...

Jade smiled as he sat down. "Yay!" she cheered as she lightly clapped her hands together. She felt all giddy and giggly. She quickly looked away from him, curtaining her blush with her hair again. "Sorry.." she mumbled through a smile. "It's just so nice to have company!" She picked up the phone she had dropped and began to dial the number to her favorite pizza place.It was only a few blocks away but she was feeling too lazy to walk down there. She glanced sideways at him as she lifted it to her ear. It rang a few times and someone answered. "Hello ?" she asked and someone responded back. She placed a hand over the bottom as she leaned closer to him, "Thank the Goddess they are open 24 hours.." she whispered with a smile. Removing her hand, she gave the person on the other end her order and hung up. "It'll be about 15 mins." she said softly, setting the phone down.

As Jade reached for the remote, it suddenly occurred to her that he had denied both a drink and food. Surely he was hungry ! If she was, he had to be! Of course, she wouldn't be full until she managed to get some blood, but who knew when that would be? She looked over at him again, this time really looking at him. She knew from the moment he walked through her door that something was off about him, but she couldn't place her finger on it. He refused a drink and food, his touch was abnormally cold when they shook hands, and she felt something similar tugging at her being; like soul knew what he was but her brain wouldn't listen. "Hmph." she picked up the TV remote and flipped the flat screen on. "What do you wish to watch?" she asked, returning to usually chipper self.
