Cheveyo stood quietly in the middle of a meadow. The sunlight turning his buckskin coat gold. He shook his black mane and grazed peacefully, his tail swishing back and forth. His ears turning to catch any approaching sounds.

A teenage boy stepped into the light at the edge of the meadow. He had thick, black curly hair, which nearly went to his eyes. Those brilliant, crystal blue eyes. His skin was a natural gold, and tight over muscle. He was around six foot, and only seventeen. He held a coil of rope in one hand, and an apple in the other. He stood, watching the stallion.

Cheveyo flicked his ears forward when he heard a small noise. He jerked his head up, his nostrils flaring to catch any strange scents. His eyes locked on a human boy standing at the edge of the meadow. He looked at the boy and pawed the grass, but didn't run. He was more curious than he was frightened. He watched the boy closely to see what he would do.

He smiled slightly. "Hey boy." He murmered, barely loud enough for the horse to hear. He took a step forward.

Cheveyo tossed his head when the boy spoke. He let out a low whinny and struck the ground with a hoof. His eyes showed his curiousity. He had heard stories about humans and was always told to run away from them and their ropes. This was the closest he had ever been to one and he didn't feel frightened but simply curious. He watched the boy and stood his ground when the boy took a step forward.

A beautifull mustang troted along when she seen the other one. She dident see the human. she troted up to the horse. "hello" she said in a bright voice. "what are you doing here?"

He saw the other horse, and glanced down at his rope. He dropped it into the grass. He would only need it if a horse accepted him, for he didn't want to force a fate onto a mustang. He looked back up at the pair, taking another step, still holding an apple.

Cheveyo looked over at the other mustang. "Hello." he greeted her. "It seemed like a good place to graze and then he showed up a little before you did." he answered her, tossing his head in the direction of the boy. His ears flicked towards the boy when he heard something drop. He watched curiously as the boy took another step.

She perked her ears up and looked in the derction of the human. she dident move. Like the other horse, she was curious. "I had the same idea. my names Flicka" she smiled at him, ignoring the human

"My name is Cheveyo." he told her. He was completely focused on the boy, his nostrils flaring and his ears flicking back and forth, catching the scent of the apple in the boy's hand. He took a small step towards the boy. "This is the closest I've been to a human. I've heard so many stories of how cruel they are and how they take wild horses and drag them away with ropes, but this one seems to be different than how those stories describe humans." he commented quietly.

"mm" she added. "but you never know". she also took a step foward

He laughed softly. "You guys want some?" He asked softly, pulling another apple from his pocket.

Cheveyo's eyes locked on the sweet smelling apple in the boy's hand. He stomped a hoof when the boy spoke again. He looked the boy over and noticed he wasn't holding any ropes and he didn't seem dangerous. His eyes suddenly flashed with a playful glint. He threw himself forward and raced straight towards the boy, his black mane and tail steaming out behind him. He skidded to a stop a few feet in front of the human and reared up on his hind legs, pawing the air with his front hooves.

He didn't flinch. He laughed softly, and held it out to him. "So you do want it?"

Flicka trotted carffuly to the boy, eye on the apple.

Cheveyo lowered himself back to the ground and snorted in annoyance. He looked from the boy to the apple. The playful look flashed in his eyes again as he streched his neck and snatched the apple from the boys hand before jumping away. He ate the sweet fruit quickly and looked back over at the boy. He circled the human a few times, but stopped when he saw a rope coiled in the grass. He slowly approached the rope as if it were a snake. His nostrils flared as he sniffed it. He suddenly snatched the rope off the ground and tossed it high in the air. He tossed his head and whinnied, but kicked out as the rope landed behind him. He paniced as the rope was tangled around his leg and kicked out, only to cause the rope to tighten even more.

"No no no." He murmured softly in concern. He stood, gently placing a hand on his flank to relax him. "Calm down boy, ill get you out." He reached down carefully, untangling some of the rope.

Cheveyo kicked out his leg as he felt the rope loosen. His eyes wide in alarm as he felt the rope stay slightly tangled around his leg. He tossed his head, but didn't shy away from the boy. He turned his head to look at the boy, his eyes asking for help, his ears pinned back. He had to fight his instincts to run, he knew if he didn't let the boy remove the rope it could trip him if something dangerous was chasing him.

He murmured softly, untengling the rest of the rope, which he coiled up messily. "There you go boy." He said, taking a few paces back to show no threat.

Cheveyo calmed down as the rope was untangled. He tossed his head and whinnied happily. He watched the boy move away with the rope in his hand. He cautiously approached the boy again and streched his neck out to sniff at the rope, but didn't touch it.

He held it out. "Rope's not your enemy. Its just clumsy. It gets tangled up all the time. You just have to be careful, because it can be dangerous in the wrong hands, like the wranglers." He spoke softly to the horse, gingerly reach his hand towards his nose.

Cheveyo sniffed the rope, his ears flicking forward to catch the boy's voice. He saw the boy lift his hand towards him, but didn't shy away. He lifted his head slightly and put his nose near the boy's hand, allowing the boy to touch him.

His eyes flashed slightly in delight, and he gently rubbed the stallions nose.

Cheveyo tossed his head, sending his long black mane flying. He stepped forward and pushed his nose against the boy's shoulder. His eyes flashed playfully as he pushed against the boy.
