The evening sun hung in the sky, tired and ready to sleep. It let out rich, red light, making the orchard look on fire. Amazing how sunrise and sunset were so different. The orchard was empty, besides for a lone pair. The mare was grazing under an apple tree, her dappled silver coat turned chestnut by the sunset. Her tail was held aloft, in that arab way, the grey and white locks swirling together. She took a step with one of her long legs, snorting a fine mist from her velvety maw and then continuing to graze. Her companion was a grey cat, the same size of a leopard, just a steely silver color, with blue eyes and no spots. She lay basking in the light close to the mare, asleep. The mar lifted her dished head, and shook out her long, grey mane, sighing. Her dark eyes reflected the sunset as she observed the landscape casually, making sure no one was going to sneak up on her. Memories from not to long ago flashed through her mind, of the Friesian stallion who killed her mate, and she shuddered. Alone once again. She flicked her tail wistfully, and closed her eyes, standing in the sun, her velvety coat stretched over her lean, muscled body, and fell into a light sleep.

Pale blue eyes burned as they looked over the Plains before him. The midnight black Friesian snorted as he dug his hooves into the ground. He stood as still as a rock, just looking out around him. A breeze blew past, ruffling his forelock and mane. He lifted his head to the wind, closing his eyes gently. Tail raised into the air, letting the hair flow like a banner in the wind. A large whinny came from his mouth as he, out of nowhere, plunged forward, racing through the plains.

Head lowered closer to the ground as he kicked his back legs up into the air, another shrill call coming from his lips. He was letting everyone know he was here. It wasn't a dominance sort of thing, no, it was a caution. Not a caution because he was dangerous, infact, that is what he was trying to prevent. Danger. He didn't want to fight, so he was warning anyone who may hear that he was approaching.

Long, thick legs ate up the ground. When the silver mare came into view though, he stopped short, sliding in the ground, creating large imprints in the earth. With a shake of his head, mane flinging around, he trotted towards her. Legs came high into the air and neck bent at a gorgeous arch. He nickered towards her as he came trailing towards her.

He stood there now, glaring carefully down at her. His pale blue eyes were nearly translucent as he watched her. She was asleep as far as he could tell, and he didn't really want to wake her up. His eyes found the cat companion and he dipped his head in a greeting towards it. He took a step back, showing he didn't want to hurt anyone as his neck lowered down towards the female, in an attempt to nuzzle her awake.

The cat hissed softly. She knew this wasnt the same stallion, but also knew her lady would be startled. She was. She leapt back, streams of white light streaming along the outlines of her muscles. He ears hugged her poll tightly, and the whites of her eyes flashed a bit as she jumped away, snorting. She stopped still, muscles tight, watching him suspiciously. Smaller in build, With a mane and tail that flowed in strands opposed to hung in dreadlocks. And there were those eyes. The watery blue assured her not to mistrust. But she wouldnt trust anyone nowadays. She only ever trusted Tornado from the beginning. Her consciousness flooded with unspeakable grief, and for a moment she loss all awareness of the world. Her eyes were empty, her body totally still except for the gentle flutter of her unsure breaths. The cat sat, feeling her ladies greif in her own consciousness, and gave a gentle push with her mind, returning the mare to the situation. She flicked her tail and blinked a few times. "Hello." she said almost bluntly to him. She lacked any enthusiasm to do anything nowadays.
