A soft wind blew across the plains, making the tall, grass wave and ripple, as if it was not flora, but water. The tip of the sun rose above the horizon, beginning to illuminate the landscape in a bright, young light. A dark figure trotted through the grass; her mane was long and mangled, her tail practically dreadlocks, and a fire in her eyes. She whinnied, loud and clear, steam coming from her nostrils. A wild beaty, for sure. Her deep, dark brown satin coat shone, strung tight over strong, lithe muscles. There was dirt along the top of her back, and when she shook it departed in a cloud. She threw her dome into the air, rejoicing in the cool morning, and reared, grey hooves flashing. She landed and bucked, her hind socks and pink hooves flashing. She stood still, ears pricked, fore lock barely showing the narrow blaze that ran down from forehead to muzzle. She snorted and pawed, enjoying her solitary play. She bolted again, bucking and spinning, and then stopping to observe the horizon before resuming to play, her 16.2 hh frame radiating excitement and happiness. The young mare stopped once more, reaching out to sniff a falcon on a low tree limb. The bird softly called to her, and she whinnied back.

Chad came over and saw the mare, He made a quick dive for the bushes. He peeked up from the bushes, he looked at the mare quietly."Nice move Chad.."He muttered to himself, He was quiet but he managed. He got up and tiptoed quietly, he suddenly stepped on a branch leading it to cracking loudly. He made a second dive for the bushes, he peeked through the bushes this time, hoping the mare didn't hear him. He never should have entered, and he would never even been in this mess with a horse drawled this close to his attention just by hearing him step on the branch. He thought this was a nightmare, he thought about probably capturing this mare? No, He didn't have the tools needed to capture one.

She looked away from the falcon abruptly, staring intently towards the bushes that bordered the field. She took a few scopey trot strides forward and stopped again, nickering softly, her nostrils fluttering. She watched the bush with eyes bright and ears pricked, curious to what made the stick crack. She sniffed the air, trying to catch a scent, but the bushes were downwind of her.

He looked up a little further, seeing that the mare got closer. He muttered something, He stood up slowly walking out of the bushes. He walked a little closer to the mare, apparently trying to show no harm. He did a nervous smile, not wanting to get trampled. He stood just a little ways, away from the mare just giving her personal space. He was quiet mostly because, he was nervous.

She spooked, bolting away, bucking and squealing. She stopped a bit further away, and watched, flicking her ears back and forth.

He sighed."It's alright, I won't hurt you."He said calmly, now sitting down quietly.

She reared, neighing piercingly and striking at the air with her hooves, snorting steam. She landed and bucked, watching the boy again, ears still flicking. She hadn't met a human before, so she wasn't sure how to react.

"Calm down, Calm down. It's alright, It's alright."He said in a calmed, whisper. He wasn't sure the horse, knew what to do. He sat there calm and steady, just to encounter a horse. He had to walk in the plains, didn't he? Yup he did.

She squealed and bucked, galloping in a semicircle around him, keeping her distance warily.

He put his hands up, showing he had no rope. He watched the horse for a while, kind of bored.

She breifly pinned her ears, and then decidedly ignored him, back to prancing around and bucking. She was a wild filly, and some cowboy would have to get a few bruises to break her in.

He sighed, then he began to get up, and decided to walk near the horse more. He stopped once again, at a certain distance thinking this horse liked it's space. "It's okay..No need to fear me."He said, firmly and walking just sideways over to her shoulder.

Hjer ears lay flat against her poll and she spun, kicking out high, and narrowly missing him. A warning. She took off away, stopping further away then before, ears pinned still as she snorted and pawed wildly.

Alright, He had enough of this, He decided just to get hurt to get this horse. He began walking towards, the horse only just to her shoulder just as a horse whisperer had told him, or maybe it was just a crazy old man. He was trying to show no harm, because this horse thought he meant harm to be done.

She skittered away, sprinting even further, ears totally pinned now as she snorted fiercely, steam billowing from her nostrils.

He sighed, and sat down on the ground, quietly looking down as if sulking to himself.

She bucked, and stood, staring at the guy with fierce black eyes.

He looked up at the horse, then looked back down as if sulking a bit, more.

She continued to glare, still with the exception of her quivering nostrils and flicking tail.

Stephanie tacked up Petey western to go into the plains to look for a wild horse. She galloped along smoothly through the woods to the edge of the plains. Then she slowed it down to a small trot as she entered.

The mare heard the sound of distant hooves, and pricked her ears, but snorted in irritation when she saw someone riding. Another person.

Stephanie then saw the mare. She stopped Petey in his tracks, then she dismounted. To Petey she told him,"Stay unless I call for you". She left her rope and lasso on her saddle and slowly approched the mare hoping she wouldnt charge for her.
