The wind rippled across the grass, yellow and dry. There was naught but silence in that bleak atmosphere; for miles it was just dry grass and almost grey skies, full of clouds. The sun broke through for a few moments, enough to make something set off a green flash. Upon closer inspection, there is a large, ovaline stone. About a foot long, and half a foot wide, it was made of what seemed to be jade and emerald. It was streaked with all different shades of sparkling green, and lines of faded shimmering gold. There was a hairline crack along the top, only on the surface, but enough to give it away. This was a dragon egg, and the unhatched dragonlet had little time left to wait.
