The cold ground stood between the gray stallion and the bushy ground. He waited, every thing silent. His life had never been the same, the raid of men, the raid of stallions, no mare, no land, he was alone...

The dark hued beauty stood at the edge of the treeline, the shadows hiding her figure. She snorted. She thought she was alone, and so she ventured out into the open. She looked around, and then, she smelled something. A stallion, or so the smell told her. Smells could be decieving sometimes, as she had learned by the loss of her mother. She walked farther into the orchard, and finally, she saw a gray form standing in the distance. Keeping almost completely silent, she took a few steps, then stopped, looking at the horse.

HE turned and bobbed his head.. "hi," he said walking closer to her..

Lyra stayed where she was, rooted to the spot. He indeed was a stallion, and she didn't exactly trust them, unless they could prove to her otherwise. She snorted, and finally replied after a few minutes. "Hello." She said lightly.

He looked at the howling wind, a rainy day.. He said nothing..

Lyra also said nothing. She just stared as the wind buffeted her mane. She ignored the rain, even though the coldness was soaking into her skin.

"You alone?" he asked softly.

Lyra nodded. "Yes, I'm alone...Why?" She said, then taking a step back.

"nothing" He said.

She relaxed a bit. "Umm..." She said, before grazing on the wet grass.

He started to graze, seeing nothing else to do.
