Two figures appeared at the top os a hill, mounted and galloping down the hillside. The riders reigned them back, but they didn't reduce speed much, bounding eagerly across the plains, legs eating up the turf as the pair galloped towards the camp. The drew back to a rolling canter, coming closer.
One of the drafts was a pale golden colour, with a white blaze. His mouth foamed around the bit, and his chest was dark with sweat. Sweat was heavy under his tack, bright chestnut leather with solid gold accents and buckles. Large saddle bags sat behind the large, light, deep seated saddle, perfect for long, fast riding. The man in the saddle was yound, and lean, riding with a grin, his maroon cape billowing behind him as they ran. He wore plain leather pants, and boots, and his shirt was loose, a golden color. His skin was deeply tanned, his hair dark and curly, and his eyes a sky blue. He had a sword around his waist, and a shield by his right leg, with the sun carved into it.
The other rider was an opposite, starting with her mount. The mare was a dark, dapple grey, with whites and light greys unevenly mottling her body, beginning at her face. Her mane was pale blonde and silver, and also dark grey to black. She was so imperfect, it was beautiful. Her chest had far less sweat than the gold stallions, and she had her ears pricked forward, bounding with her head drawn in. Her tack was a dark, chocolatey brown leather, with silver buckles and accents, the saddle built light and smaller than the other, for flexibility and speed, and long rides. Her rider was lithe and steady, with a deep blue cape flicking across the mares hind quarters, held in by an ivory quiver, filled with arrows with silver feathers and an exquisite bow. Her hair was long and black, pulled back by the wind. She was healthily pale, with full rose lips and silver eyes. Her blouse was grey, with a leather corset over top, and leather pants and boots too. A thin sword hung on either hip, the moon carved into the hilts.
Two opposites, they rode across the grass, slowing down as they grew close. They pulled up their horses, the mare being turned, her ears now pinned, and the stallion sliding to a stop, rider grinning. "Hello," he called, "mind if we join for a while? We've been riding for quite a time, and my boy here needs a rest." He patted the stallions shoulder generously. The girl stayed further back, her horse fidgeting a little, but she just watched the camp silently.

The music stopped and Shasta ceased movment. She looked at them with burning orange eyes. Her muscles clenched as she studied the pair. After some personal debate she relaxed. So long as there was no threat she would be calm. She nodded to the others to continue without her and they picked up where they left off, the wild sounding music flaring up and other members dancing with feral grace.

Shasta walked over to the riders, moving rythemicly. Her head only slightly titlted. The light iluminated her skin with the black tatoo like markings swiled all over. After consideration of the request she finaly answered,"Yes, I suppose. I see no reason not to let you." Her voice was strong and clear, almost resounding through the open space.

The man smiled, and swung his leg over the horses back, jumping down gracefully. "Thanks. I'm Sol, and this is my sister, Lua." He was friendly, obviously more social than his sibling. She stood at her horses side, removing the tack and placing it a few metres from the camp, and pulling off her cloak, covering the leather tack with it so as not to ruin it with the suns light. She climbed back onto her horses damp back, weapons still with her, and a string with several flasks tied onto it draped over her horses shoulder. She took a similar string from one of Sol's bags, and then Lua and her percheron were off towards the river, saddle-less and bridle-less. Sol began uncinching his stallions tack, putting it beside his sisters. "Sorry about her. She's quiet around strangers."

He nodded and pat his big draft, who slowly wandered in the direction the girl and her horse went. Sole sat, smiling. "We normally travel alone, but often stay with other travellers overnight if we stumble across any. Its nice to all sit around the fire and swap tales." With this his eyes danced,

Shasta nodded. Her small appy, Admiration, wandered over happily. The girl smiled and patted the young horse's shoulder. She combed through her tangled redish orange hair. A tatto like thing on her cheek moved slightly, as though flapping its wings, that happened when she was content,"Heh, well I suppose we do have some interesting tales around here," She said. Her eyes got a sort of far off look as she thought of the attacks. Hm, should she mention it to her guests? That those dreadful goblin creatures were hunting her band? Perhaps. After all, it isnt nice to let your guests sit in blissful ignoance as a bunch of evil creatures stalks them, murder on the mind. But how was that fun? Oh well. Shasta was raised right after all,"Y'all should know theres some unwelcome company about in these parts. Goblins, or so we call them. Killed my parents, the last two leaders. Just thought you should know to watch your backs." She added. The girl skipped off to a nearby wagon and picked up her cup of tea. The small black and white appy followed merrily.

Sol followed more slowly, placing a hand on his hilt briefly. "Yeah, me and Lua have plenty of experience defending." He replied, glancing at the appaloosa.

Shasta sipped her tea slowly. She set down the cup and stood up. The girl lept onto her horse's back, griping the short mane for balance. They trotted around the wagon, Shasta geting control of the mare's movments. She hadn't ridden since they got here, and the unpacking process took a while if done right. She stopped next to Sol,"Well that's good to know. I'd hate to lose guests too soon." she said. Her voice held a almost dangerous tone, but was at the same careing. She didn't take the loss of lives lightly. After all, an attack could happen at anytime. Her mare pranced and tossed her head, nervous. Not so good.

Sol glanced to the side, seeing his sister riding her mare over, his stallion following. She put the ropes of flasks with their stuff, and slipped off her horses side. The mare lay down beneath a tree, and Lua followed, laying down beside the mare. The pair fell asleep rapidly. Sol shook his head, smiling slightly. His stallion dropped his chin on Sol's shoulder.

Shasta looked at the sleeping girl and horse a moment, with minimum interest. She slid sideways off the appy's back; as if falling, but landed neatly next to the horse. Her little mare trotted in a circle and came to a stand next to Shasta's right shoulder. Their muscles were ridged as the pair straws intently a a stand of trees a small distance away. Shasta reached down and gasped her throwing knives tight in her hands. As she did a great commotion came from the trees and sloping and hollering as some evil looking creatures went on the attack.

Straight away, Lua was at her feet, nocking an arrow, and firing. The arrow soared the near impossible distance and hit one straight in the chest. Sol grabbed his shield and ran forward a few metres, swinging his sword as the creatures approached. Lua shot down a few more, and then slipped her bow in her quiver and pulled out her two blades, holding them across each other and waiting in anticipation, her mare circling her, ears pricked as she wavered between trot and canter, excited. Sol's stallion stood patiently beside the man, pawing a few times and snorting.

Shasta crouched in an agresive position as she waited for the creatures to aproach. Her eyes were blazing brighter orange than they did anytime other than battle. Three goblins broke off and ran at her, snarling angrily. Shasta threw her knives at the furthest. She quickly broke out the ones she used for close combat, yanking them from their sheeths in a blur of motion. One of the ugly beasts reached her and she dealt it a massive blow to the neck, kicking it in the chest with no energy waisted on finess. Her tatoo markings swirled wildly about.

Sol slashed with his sword, slicing into the creatures quickly, one after the other. Lua's twin swords danced and flashed as she felled the creatures swiftly, eyes flashing. Her horse trampled some, herding them towards her girl, and defending where her swords couldn't. Sol's stallion chased the dreatures, keeping them from coming any closer to the camp easily. Soon the number of creatures thinned, and they began cowering from the sibling's blades.

Shasta growled under her breath as she finished off four more. Nothing like killing goblins to keep your mind off your dead parents. She puffed quietly as she wiped her blades clean on some grass. She looked to the siblings and saw the lastncowering bunch of goblins. Goody. Always good to have proof your new possible friends can take care of themselves. Always. But now Shasta had some last clean up to do. Well, suposing she controled it this time. Things got out of hand quickly if she didn't know what she was doing. She sprinted over to the others and slid to a stop next to them. A smirk tuged at the corner of her mouth as she took a step in front of the two siblings. Quickly she took a deep breath to steady herself and moved her left index finger to a flamelike marking of her right Arm. She wispered inaudibly and soon her hair was picked up by an invisible wind. Her orange eyes glowed slightly and power surged through her body. Before the goblins could move to run though they were engulfed in a sudden burst of flame that gave off an intense heat. Not one dry blade of grass cought fire, but those goblins went up in flames like nobodys buisness. Shasta smiled as the last went down to nothing but ashes which seemed to disapear quickly. She sighed slighty at the use of magic. She was a witch, a rare sort, but was one none the less. It was a miricle she hadn't roasted everyone there sewing as she had never been givin much instruction before her parents died.

Lua slipped her swords into their sheaths, and her and her horse settled again beneath the tree, tired. Sol wiped his blade clean, and slipped it into iots sheath, the metal hissing. "Impressive." He said, glancing at the ashes.

Shasta sighed slightly. She shook slightly as she stood, trying to recover. She was young and strong but magic really took it out of her. Her lips twitched at Sol's comment. He had no idea. For her that was incredible. They all probably should have burnt like the goblins. She really needed someone to help her control herself, but that was unlikely to happen. Shasta retreved her throwing knives and put them away. Her vision was blurry and she was just glad she didn't pass out. That would not be good. No, not at all,"Thanks. I tried hard you know." she said. Her voice was shaky and she walked to a wagon, sitting on the edge, head in hands.

He sat next to her. "I can tell." He pulled out a small pouch made of shimmering gold fabric, and opened it, offering one of the golden spheres inside, like a drop of amber. "It'll give you back your strength."

Shasta grimaced as she tried to keep herself from geting dizy. Oh gah, did she really have to do this? Seriously. Oh well, this is what she got for better control. Nausious. She took the golden sphere from Sol. Her head started to ache a bit more but then that went away and she started feeling better. A lot actualy.

She shook as she felt her strength back. She was thankful Sol had helped her. She had never used that much magic at once and things could have gone south fast. At least now she didn't feel like she might hurl. Her focus began to wander as she felt better. She growled as the nasty blood stains on her dress. Well, they were few and little. Least Shasta wasn't a blood stain. After her parents it was all she could hope for. She wistled to her little appy who trotted over pleasently now that the danger was gone. All was well in Mir's world. Shasta patted her neck and turned to Sol,"Thanks. That's never happened to me before. I really need to work on that," she said.

He nodded, "Magic like that takes a long while to master."
