The man sighed deeply as he looked around. Behind him were the wrought iron gates leading to his home. A home that gelt more empty recently. Mainly because as of recently his sister had been gone. Without notice. She might be overprotective and have a sharp tongue, but he grew up with her and her absence left a bit of a hole. Not to mention thefact that members of the group had been leaving with no warning. Things had... Fallen apart some. Now the only one he could count on seeing every so often was his fellow leader, daemon. Not that the other man had been around tons. Gah, this whole mess was making his head hurt. He glanced around with his stunning purple eyes, searching for someone, anyone to talk with. A familiar face would be more welcome now then usual.

That fought him to the thought of a non pack member. That girl he had met some time ago at the club. True, it had resulted in his sister tracking him down and chewing him out, but meeting Clio may just have been worth it. He couldn't pin down what caught his interest, but it didn't matter. He had not seen the girl, or rather if he recalled correctly witch, in some time. It might be nice to learn a bit more about her, but how to find her was another matter and he honestly didn't feel like running around this big town to look for someone he may or may not find. Alexander frowned and ran a hand through his dirty blonde hair. So far sitting by the fence really hadn't accomplished much, but what could he say? It was just too hot to go running around... Ah, well maybe she would save him some trouble and find him.

(YAYAYAYAY!!!! *dances around as if on skittles*)

Clio sighed, and ran a hand through her hair. She'd once again gotten in an argument with Thais, and had ran out of the house. As usual, it was about Luc, as they were trying to figure out what to do with the lying, cheating, son of a b****. She growled, and mumbled something, but even she wouldn't have known what had come from her mouth. She'd changed a lot it the past few months, also. Her hair was shorter than it had been, and it was layered, and she had slanted "bang" on one side, also layered. She'd changed wardrobe too. She now had on All Stars high tops, skinny jeans, and a t-shirt and hoodie. People may have thought her nuts for having a sweater on in this heat, but it was now like a second skin. She felt naked with out it. (I made her dress more like me xD)

She kicked a rock, sending it flying into a woods, getting an angry screech and flapping wings as a response. She smirked, and continued on her walk. She looked up from the path/road/thing, and looked around her. She didn't know where she was. Blind rage, was, well, blinding. She thought about turning around, but soon she felt a presence. She couldn't tell who, or what, it was, but she figured it may be interesting. Her mind suddenly wandered to Alexander, an old friend. She hadn't seen him in ages. In fact, she hadn't spoken with him since the day on the beach, where an awful lot of cuddling had gone on (<-- XD) She looked back down on the ground, not paying much attention to where she was going. As long as she was heading toward whatever had such a strong presence, she didn't care where she went.

(I'm proud of mahself Very Happy What about chu? I did a big post Very Happy)

((Te he I thought you would be happy! And I am very proud of ya, keep up the good work lovely)

He was about to let out another loud sigh and go find someone to bother when he froze suddenly. A feeling washed over him, call it a sixth sense, and he knew without even hearing or smelling this other that they were coming. Who they were was not of importance, just the fact that he so easily felt their presence nearby meant something to him. He knew this person, if it was a person. He only ever felt so strongly if he had gotten the chance to get to know whoever it was. Even a little, such as their name and a few minor details meant he had a better connection with the person. Whoever this was might prove to be interesting. As the wind shifted to his favor Alexander could tell that this was a being who at least smelled human and was in fact female. His dark purple eyes scanned the area nearby, wondering who this could be. He would go check it out, but he felt lethargic and someone had to lean on the gate to hold it up. It took lots effort like that. Okay, so he was just lazy, like he was the only one on earth...

Of course all thoughts of being tired and bored and frankly terribly lazy fled his mind as soon as he laid eyes on this woman who approached. He knew her, without a doubt the feeling of recognization couldn't be more clear. Though she had in fact changed in all this time since he last saw her, he would know that girl anywhere. It was Clio, the girl he had met not too long ago at the club, and then seen again at the beach. Admitedly they weren't exactly very familiar, seeing as they didn't even know most minor things about one another, but that could be fixed. He noticed how her style choice had changed a ton, but who was he to care about that? He had been around for the Victorian era and much longer before that. Way back when women with dresses above their ankles were sluts and the idea of them wearing pants was unimaginable. How far the world had come in all these years. Not to mention people didn't powder their hair or wear odd white wigs, probably a change for the better, seeing as those old things had resulted in lice and other terrors.

Yanking his mind out of the past, Alexander glanced back at clio. Even in such a casual outfit she managed to look beautiful. At least that was his opinion and he would stick with it too. A smile curved his lips as he waited a moment longer before stepping away from the gate and walking towards her at a slow pace. He was a valf after all, a preditor. He walked with the assurance of something deadly that knew it didn't have to hurry. He grinned as he got closer and waved calling to her, "Long time no see miss Clio"

(Meeeeeeeeeeeeep!)

Clio was almost positive she'd figured out who it was that had caused such a strong reaction, when she heard a familiar voice. She lifted her head, her gaze going from the ground, to the face of the man she sort of missed. Ever since they'd stopped hanging out, she and Thais had gotten into more fights. Though, she figured it was just because of the fact that Luc kept stalking around them. She'd just found out recently that he was a wizard/warlock. Man had she been p*ssed. He'd have a sore face for a while. She smiled, though it wasn't the happy, bright smile she used to have.

She raised a hand, and waved back. Look who's talking. She said. Another thing. She was more sarcastic, and a bit more violent minded. She looked down at her wrist, where the sleeve of her hoodie had ridden up. There were thin white scars that went down the underside, where she'd taken a razor blade to herself a while ago. Her sister had gotten her to stop, but it had taken a lot. So yeah. Clio had changed. A lot. She continued to walk toward Alexander, and stopped a few feet from him. He could walk the rest of the way. (I made her like me. Cause I thought I should have a character that mirrors me at least a little.)

(Hmmm....)

He raised a brow at her remark before cracking a smile. He wasn't one to be affected by attitudes, and he was probably the one who would be least affected by her sarcasm. So maybee he could have made a better effort to find her, but he had his reasons. Life had been busy recently. It felt like this was the first time he had been able to take a breather and not worry as much. It was nice, but he felt sort of on edge either way. It was hard to calm down when so much had been happening. Now that he thought about it, not too long ago one of the pack members was attacked. That had been an ordeal. That and hunting down what did it. Alexander frowned ever so slightly before yanking his thoughts out of the past. Here and now mattered. Clio was the one his attention needed to be on.

The day at the beach had stuck with him even to this day. It had been nice, but short lived. If he was the type to blush at memories, maybe he would at that one. They had been pretty freindly, considering the fact he didn't even know her favorite color, much less anything else besided that she was a witch. He closed the distance between them, standing but a foot or two away and not seeming to mind it either. He was perfectly comfortable even if he was a bit close. But Clio could deal. That or move, which might make him feel somewhat rejected, but it wasn't like he wasn't use to that.

The most pleasent look he could manage, which was sort of a half grimace really, took over his expression. A weak smile curved his lips. Gah, had he really changed? Before, was he not a mostly laid back guy? Free of worries? Where could that man have gone? It was one thing to live as long as he did, watching the humans he took to careing about age and die. But facing more of it without his ever watchful and over-protective sister was a lot less inviting. He didn't know how long witches lived. If he gave her his heart, would she last long beyond that? It was an aweful thought, and he had to remind himself that he couldn't get so attached until he at least sort of knew her better. Thinking these things was an unessicary pain he inflicted on himself.

Speaking of pain, his eyes widened slightly as he looked at her again. Looking at her sleve, he saw part of her wrist, and where some scars from past cuts were, whit in contrast to her more tan skin. Looking her in the eye he said, "Hm. What madness drove you to the wreched act of cutting your own pretty skin?" Alexander didn't dare to let out another word for fear his voice may shake even more than the slight tremble it had now. The very idea of someone doing this thing was one he could never wrap his head around. It must have been a madness indeed for one to risk cutting too deep and bleeding out. He would call them foolish if anyone asked, but his feelings about it ran much deeper. He had a friend who had done that. And now the man was dead and Apexander was stuck with the memory. Nothing, at least in his mind, was more precious than the gift of life. To throw that away, or to hate ones own existance was an incredibly waste. Shaking his head slightly, he glanced away from Clio. She really was different.

(depending on her response Alexander might get angry faceh Surprised he takes these things seriously you know)

(Sorry it's taken like, twenty years)

Clio studied Alexander for a few moments. She noticed a difference in him. He seemed more...tense, hardened somehow. Her half-hearted smile disappeared as she sensed the change in him. He'd seemed happier before they discontinued their conversations. She almost died when the realization hit her; She'd missed him more than she'd originally thought. She sighed, and looked back up at him as he asked the question she hated so much. She roughly yanked down her sleeve, nearly tearing the worn cloth of the well loved hoodie. Mild anger flashed across her eyes, before she finally decided she'd give him a response. Oh, you know... just thought it would be better than killing someone..or myself. She snapped, only half sarcastically. She lowered her gaze back the the ground, and she studied the small pebbles that littered the area. She gave a short laugh. You know, sometimes I think I should've just ended the pain of..everything. But there were certain things that kept me going. She added, almost inaudibly. She kicked a small rock, watching it as it soared into the woods, this time upsetting no creatures that may have been slumbering nearby.

Clio went back to earlier that day. She'd gotten her self into a...situation with an old friend, and they'd been stopped by Luc. She was somehow grateful he'd interrupted them, but it was still Luc. After arguing with him, and finding out he too could cast spells, she'd almost broken his nose before storming out of Richard's home. She fast forwarded to later on in the afternoon, when she'd gotten into a fight with her twin, over look. She didn't even know what it was about. She'd told Thais everything about the bastard, and suddenly they were screaming at each other, and throwing things. She cringed when she imagined Gran's face when she walked into the house and saw the mess. She knew she couldn't go back, not tonight. Eh, she'd find a hotel or something, but she could figure that out later. Right now, her attention should be trained on Alexander.

(Eeeep! SO proud of mahself Very Happy)

(sooo sorry! I've been busyyy :/ Lets see if i can get this done before my bf gets here...)

He noticed her studying him as he had studied her and thought it was to be expected. How long had it been since he last saw her? He couldn't be sure considering he was much like the wolf he could shift into, lacking a good sense of time. At times that was probably one of him most inconvenient features. Probably why he'd enjoyed the invention of watches. Of course, they were only really helpful if he actually remembered to LOOK at them, but hey, he wasn't perfect. Oh well. He liked himself just fine, even if as of late he'd been turning into someone quite different.

Clio seemed to sense the change and he would be a liar if he said it didn't give him just a pang of sadness when that smile faded from her expression. He enjoyed her smile, even if he didn't know her too well. Smiles were wonderful in general really, though sometimes they were just masking a persons true emotions, something he knew all about. Leading a group of his own kind had been no picnic when his sister was actually around. Now with only two of the three leaders remaining things were more stressful. But at the moment everything that needed doing had been taken care of so he could put the pack to the back of his mind and keep his focus on this changed acquaintance. He flinched slightly at the sudden anger he saw flashing in her eyes as she yanked down her sleeve. What, was he supposed to not ask about it? Alexander was more caring than that, he couldn't pretend something wasn't potentially wrong if he knew it really was. He tilted his head slightly at her bitter reply. She seemed like a more fractious version of her old self, the sarcasm seemed evidence enough of that.

Her gaze fell to the ground and he had to fight the urge to step closer, maybe try to comfort her. Things had obviously happened to upset her and that saddened him. He didn't want her to be upset, she should be the happy Clio he'd first taken a liking to. Not that he was going to say so, she might not take it right. It was just that he'd started to care for her after spending some time with the girl, he didn't like the idea of her hurting. He'd been through enough in all his years, and they totaled many, to know that sometimes theres nothing you can say to make someone feel better. But that hadn't ever stopped him from trying.

The laugh she gave wasn't a happy thing. It was sort of bitter, lacking the warmth and little wave of happiness most laughs carried with them. It was short and the little bit of pain that flowed through the air, riding on its current, was almost palpable. He frowned ever so slightly, looking at her with nothing but empathy and concern. He thought for a moment, searching carefully for words that might with a little luck be the right ones. "Hm. Someone very smart once said that courage isn't having the strength to go on; it is going on when you don't have the strength. You can't go on if you aren't breathing, and every day is a chance for something good to happen." He added, trying to add some life into his words, encouragement seemed to permeate the air and his eyes even turned a slightly lighter shade of purple.

He paused a few moments, seeming to stare off into space and get lost there. He had a habit of doing that every now and then, but he quickly yanked himself back into reality and gave her the slightest smile and said, "For example, i was very busy and stressed but today was another chance and now im talking to someone i've missed and im not busy at all."

(DONE! WIN! YES! Sooo happy! mew ._. but what will she saay?????)

(Holy. Shit. Please scuze mah French. Don't know if I can even come close to that O-O Well done.)

Clio lifted her gaze from the ground, her emerald eyes settling on Alexander's purple ones. She nearly smiled when she saw then lighten, as the thought of the man being happy made her a bit happier too. She took in his encouraging words in silence, taking her time to sort things out in her head. She stared down at her sleeves, in which she was twisting in her small hands. She wasn't sure how to respond to Alexander. The fact that he wanted to help made her want to punch herself in the face. He had been one of the reasons she was still alive now. Passing thoughts of him, how he'd been so happy, and carefree. If only she could've stayed that way.

She looked up at Alexander again, and stepped toward him, wrapping her arms around him tightly. As she did, a tear slid down her cheek, followed by another, and another. Soon, they were uncontrollable, but she didn't care. She sobbed into his short, her hands clutching at his shirt in the back. She wasn't sure at first why she had begun to cry, but then she realized: He cared. No one at home cared, or understood. Not even Thais. And even if Alexander didn't, Clio felt as if he was trying. She sobbed again, not caring that he was the first person to ever see her cry. Not caring that she was getting his shirt all wet, or that there were probably black smudges on it from her eyeliner. All she could think about was that he cared. (EPIC FAIL Dx)
